Stewardship

The Episcopal Church defines stewardship as: “What I do, with all that I have, after I say, ‘I believe.’” And then using the gifts God has given us to do the work God is calling us to do.

At Christ the King Church, stewardship is lived out by:

  • Living and telling the good news;
  • Sharing God in seeking justice, peace, and the integrity of creation in an interdependent universe;
  • Wisely employing God-given human resources, abilities, and relationships;
  • Sharing the material resources we hold and giving them in service, justice and compassion;
  • Providing for future generations, sharing in the life, worship, and responsible stewardship of the church and of its mission;
  • Joyfully acting for the individual, the community and for the sake of God's world.

Christ the King is financially supported by its members and visitors who enjoy worshiping together and serving those God has sent our way. Unlike state-sponsored churches in Germany, which receive financial support through the government, we view ourselves as a ‘DYI’ church, covering all of our expenses organically either with generous regular and single donations, grants or other sources of earned income.

Annual giving

This is how we define annual giving:

  • The regular practice of returning to God a portion of all that God has given us.
  • It involves living a life built upon the notion that all that we have is a gift from God.
  • The portion of what God has given us as annual income that we give to God each year through our congregation. In addition to sustaining and expanding the mission and ministry of the church where we worship and are formed and cared for, a portion of this giving goes to fund the mission and ministry of the Convocation of Episcopal Churches in Europe.

Why you should pledge

There are many reasons to make a financial pledge

  • It helps the vestry develop a more accurate plan for the church year;
  • It helps you by providing the necessary record of donations for a tax deduction.
  • It enables us to turn our faith into action and “put our money where our mouth is.”

To support the programs we offer, our ministries, administrative costs and maintenance of our buildings, we actively aim to raise our annual fixed costs on our own through pledges and fundraising activities

If you would like to make a regular or one-time donation, or an annual pledge, Christ the King Church welcomes your support.

All donations are tax deductible and can be made to:
